Comcast Early Learning Technology Program

The Comcast Early Learning Technology Program is a professional learning opportunity designed to help early care and education practitioners in Miami-Dade County integrate technology in their classrooms and programs.

Through hands-on experiences with existing and emerging technology and digital media tools, participants learn instructional strategies, receive resources to share with colleagues, and immerse themselves in a supportive community of early childhood educators.

Application Requirements

All applications must register through our learning portal.

Applicants

12 early childhood practitioners are selected per cohort. Applicants include classroom teachers, curriculum specialists, master teachers, and other early education professionals who actively serve children ages 0 – 5. Participants are selected on a first-come, first-serve basis and survey responses.

Topics Include

  • Introduction to the digital classroom
  • Enhancing  communication through the use of digital tools
  • Expanding the classroom walls with videoconferencing and video to support inquiry
  • Using digital pictures and audio recordings in the classroom
  • Sharing knowledge and learning through publication and presentation tools

Benefits

At the conclusion of each course, the Comcast Early Learning Technology Program provides an iPod touch for each participating early childhood professional to ensure that lessons learned during the classes are implemented and documented. Also, each participant earns 1.8 Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
