Family Childcare Conference brings together childcare providers in the community

 

The United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education will host a Family Childcare Conference for family childcare providers of Miami-Dade. Diane Triester Dodge will deliver the keynote speech on the importance of selecting a curriculum for family childcare programs.

The conference will take place on December 13, 2008 from 8:30am-4:00pm at the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education.The primary focus of the day will be the importance of curriculum selection and implementation for family child care programs.

Diane has been a preschool and kindergarten teacher; served as the education coordinator for Head Start and child care programs in Mississippi and Washington, D.C.; and directed national projects in education and human services. She is the lead author of The Creative Curriculum® and is a well-known speaker. Diane served on the Governing Board of NAEYC (1990-1994) and the Center for the Child Care Workforce (1995-2002), and she is now on several boards of directors, including Dumbarton Concerts–Inner City/Inner Child. She also serves on the D.C. Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Early Childhood Development and the advisory board of Bright Horizons Family Solutions.
