United Way CEO comments on “The Case of the $320,000 Kindergarten Teachers”

Dear United Way friend,

I wanted to call your attention to a column that appeared in Wednesday’s New York Times, “The Case of the $320,000 Kindergarten Teachers.”  The columnist, David Leonhardt, makes a compelling case for the importance of investing in early education. It’s great to see yet another story confirming the critical importance and value of our work at the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education, which you help make possible.

His column, which reports on new research conducted by Raj Chetty, a Harvard economist, further validates the leading-edge work we are doing at the United Way Center for Excellence in Early Education.  I would encourage you to read his column.  Also, I would encourage you to watch our new video on the Center, which highlights just some of the amazing work we are doing.

We have so many reasons to be proud of this work . . . and so many opportunities to advance this all-important agenda. Thank you.

Best regards,

Harve A. Mogul
